Bella Hadid Fearlessly Shares Pics Of Her Life With Chronic Autoimmune Disease



Dutch Model Bella Hadid has recently offered internet users a rare glimpse of life with chronic autoimmune disorders. The 24-Year-Old shared a series of photos on her Instagram page, which showed how she’s tapped up to an IV. ‘Living with a few chronic autoimmune diseases = always finding time for my IVs.’ Bella captioned the photos. On her Instagram story, she equally shared a photo of bandages on her arms and wrote: ‘After ten years of needles, my tiny veins usually give out once before we get a good one.’

In 2020, Bella posted an Instagram story about the disease and revealed how it affected her daily life, with symptoms including brain fog, weight gain, loss, joint pain, headaches, insomnia, and nausea. 

Bella was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, together with younger brother Anwar and their mother, Yolanda

In 2016, when Bella was aged 20, she had opened up to People Magazine about struggling with the disease and working as a model. ‘Life isn’t always what it looks like on the outside, and the hardest part of this journey is to be judged by the way you look instead of the way you feel.’ Bella said at that time.

In the same year, Bella was interviewed by the Global Lyme Alliance New York Gala, where she revealed how her Lyme disease led to being homeschooled and giving up on her dream of a professional horseback rider. Nonetheless, there’s no cure for Lyme disease, and other celebrities who equally battle with the same illness include Actor Alex Baldwin, Singers Justin Bieber, and Avril Lavigne.
