The defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp resumes emotionally as Amber Heard cried out that she's not lying. The 36-year-old made her stance at the Fairfax Court in Virginia against ex-husband Depp who was suing her for $50 million for defaming him in The Washington Post op-ed published in December 2018.
'The Rum Diary' star has denied that she ever lied after audio recordings being played exposed some of her contradicting statements.

Heard had countersued Depp's defamation lawsuit with a $100 million with the court now focusing on who's the victim in the domestic abuse that happened inside their 18-month marriage.

Heard, who got a restraining order against Depp fresh after their marriage, was officially divorced from her ex-husband in 2017. The settlement gave her $7 million, which she promised to donate to the Children's Hospital and ACLU, but she never did.
In her op-ed, she identified herself as a survivor of DV (domestic violence) but never listed the name of her abuser. Depp's legal team, however, countered that the implication in the piece efficiently pointed at Depp, who then lost his job.
She told the court, "I just want anything from him – just don’t call me a liar. It’s all I said. Just don’t call me a liar. Just don’t say this isn’t real, because I’m the walking proof of it."

Heard's lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, asked the actress the reason for her decision to file for divorce and she answered, "I knew if I didn’t then l’d likely not literally survive. I was so scared that it was going to end badly for me and I really didn’t want to leave him, I loved him so much."
"I would have done anything but I couldn’t do that one thing, I couldn’t stay. The promise and the hope I had become less and less regular and more and more rare."
"The monster was now the thing that was normal and not the exception. The violence was now normal and not the exception. It was so hard, but I knew I had to do it. What if he had taken it too far, I wouldn’t be here," she added, referring to Depp who called his temperament "a monster."

Heard had also been grilled by Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez, for the series of sleeping Depp pictures she had with her.

After a supposed assault on Met Gala night in 2014, Heard was seen the next day and a few weeks after without a single injury on her.
