Ryan Reynolds Surprised To See Blake Lively’s Dress Transforming At The Met Gala

Her dress undoubtedly turned heads, but it only got better when she unveiled a whole different second look underneath with the help of some stylists. Lively’s dress switched from its initial shade to a stunning green fabric. It fitted so perfectly with the theme of Fashion in America, and Lively reportedly told E! that her dress was a nod to New York City.

“So I arrived in copper and then it [patinated] to a verdigris,” Lively said, referring to how oxidation has tainted the color of the Statue of Liberty.

She added: “This is the constellation from Grand Central Station. This is architecture from the Empire State Building – the Statue of Liberty. It’s, you know, lots of little references to New York City.” While the transformation has since sent the internet into the wild, one person who witnessed the whole thing and couldn’t contain his excitement is Ryan Reynolds.

The Deadpool actor was “jaw dropped” as he watched his wife from a distance while she exhibited the transition.

Looking gobsmacked, Ryan was seen beaming and clapping as Lively posed in front of the cameras. If their fans needed a reason to appreciate the couple, this incident has undoubtedly warmed their hearts. However, the pair had taken on co-chairing the event alongside Anna Wintour. This year, the theme was in America: An Anthology of Fashion.

Before this, the couple had skipped the star-studded event, including the most recently last September.
