Billie Eilish Speaks Out About That Viral Tank Top Photo And Her ‘Horrible’ Body Relationship

Many of us are potential victims of the never-ending body shaming, often veiled as a compliment in a society that appreciates weight loss and thinness as something every human should strive for. But then, bodies come in all shapes/sizes, and indeed, bodies should be valued no matter what they look or how healthy they are. All Billie Eilish wanted was to rock a tank top on a hot sunny day in Los Angeles, but somehow it turned into an enormous incident that led to internet users criticizing the singer’s physique. While many fans defended her, it, however, appears that Billie was deeply bothered as she avoided questions hinged on the subject matter during an Instagram live.

Fans had asked about the paparazzi shot, and Billie answered that she had no idea of what they were talking about. Specifically, the Grammy Award winner, known for baggy clothing, amassed rumors of being pregnant and gained weight. In addressing this, Billie released a short clip where she discussed the harsh comments she has received over the years.

‘Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it. Some people use it to shame others. Some people use it to shame me.’ Billie said in the clip that was played during her ‘Where do we go? tour. But I feel you watching always, and nothing I do goes unseen. Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Taller? Would you like me to be quiet? Do my shoulders provoke me? Does my chest?’

She continued: ‘Am I my stomach? My hips? The body I was born with, is it not what you wanted? If I wear what’s comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a slut. Though you have never seen my body, yet you still judge it and judge me for it.’

The 19-Year-Old had made it to Vanity Fair’s March cover, where she appeared ready to make comments on her paparazzi photos. Billie believed that the people around her were more bothered about the incident due to their knowledge of her past relationship with her physique.

Billie had harmed herself to deal with the hatred she has for her own body, but thankfully, she feels fine with it now

In her worst, Billie has had to harm herself to deal with the hatred she has for her own body, but thankfully, she feels fine with where she is at the moment. ‘If this had happened three years ago, when I was in the midst of my horrible body relationship or dancing a ton, five years ago. I wasn’t eating. I was like starving myself.

‘I remember taking a pill that would make me lose weight, and it only made me pee the bed when I was 12. It’s just crazy. I thought I would be the only one dealing with the hatred for my body, but I guess the internet also hates my body.’ Billie admitted.

Nonetheless, the ‘Bad Guy’ singer has decided to start exploring her styles, and indeed we do wish her all the best!
