Most actors and actresses don't get to choose what their first role is going to be for their first movies. And that one role can eventually become so iconic that it sticks to them so strongly, people always seem to consider them as the villain whenever they appear in movies. Apparently, these characters were not always the villains! When their old pictures of their younger selves were shown, people can definitely agree that they'd play the good guy pretty well, too.

They just have to frown less, smile more and maybe cover-up that crease between their eyes, but given the chance, they can still play a good guy now. Here are 12 villain actors with their younger portraits compiled on Brighthumanity!

#1 Christopher Lee

Who doesn't know this one iconic villain? As far as most people can recall, Christopher Lee has played more evil men than not. One of his most memorable role was as Saruman the White in 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy by Peter Jackson.

His filmography as a villain includes: The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Dracula (1958), Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1965), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003), Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002).

#2 Hugo Weaving

Hugo Weaving has done many bad things as characters in movies, particularly best recalled as agent Smith in 'The Matrix' trilogy. But he's not entirely evil as Middle-Earth fans will remember him more as the brave and kind king Elrond in 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy.

He was also a major character in 'V for Vendetta'.

#3 Daryl Hannah

Who doesn't recognize Daryl Hannah as 'Kill Bill' series most evil woman? In this Quentin Tarantino's flick, she returned as the villain in both movies. But she's also an innocent young woman before that, having saved Tom Hanks in 'Splash' and was Pris in 'Bladerunner'.

Ah, the sadistic Queen Cersei from 'Game of Thrones'. She manages to seal her rle as the evil queen who could only be pitied upon and starred in that TV series since 2011. She also took a step further to become a villain in a modern world in 'Dredd' in 2012.

She got a Golden Globe nomination and several Emmy nominations from her role as Cersei in the series.

#5 Alan Rickman

As a kid, most of us did not enjoy the scenes when Prof. Severus Snape appears with his wickedly evil face. The theater actor first starred as a villain in 'Die Hard' and continued to make a career breakthrough with Snape's convoluted personality and role in 'Harry Potter' series.

Alan won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA before his death in 2016 at the age of 69 due to cancer.

#6 Anjelica Huston

Anjelica Huston is most recalled as Morticia Addams from 'Addams Family', but before that, she was also in 'The Witches' from 1990. She most recently appeared in 'John Wick 3: Parabellum'.

#7 Robert Patrick

His filmography includes: 'Die Hard' 2 (1990), 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' (1991), 'The Faculty' (1998). But most people recalls him as the liquid T-1000 in James Cameron's 'Terminator' series. The evil terminator relentlessly chased after Sarah and was constantly up to something to kill them.

He kept getting killed in movies as a villain and he once said, "Someday...someday!...maybe I won’t get killed...” Well, people are finally noticing the charisma of this handsome man as a good guy in movies now!

#8 Joan Collins

Joan Collins is most famous for her role as the evil Alexis Colby in TV series 'Dynasty'. Many people argue that the 86-year-old is one of history's best villain character in TV series and won a Golden Globe nomination in 1983. She was also nominated for it 6 times from 1982 to 1987.

Joan Malkovich has a lo-ng list of films and movies where he played the evil guys. They include: 'Dangerous Liaisons' (1988), 'In the Line of Fire' (1993), 'Con Air' (1997), 'The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc' (1999), 'Shadow of the Vampire' (2000), 'The Libertine' (2005), 'The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy' (2005), 'Eragon' (2006).

He has been a sadist, a murderer, a maniac, a thug - he's been everything you could ever imagine a villain be.

#10 Glenn Close

Glenn Close first played as a villain in 'Fatal Attraction' as Alex Forest who was willing to do anything to gain love and starred across Michael Douglas. But everyone remembers her as Cruella De Vil who terrorized kids back in 60's, especially those who own Dalmatians.

Who's the best Pennywise? Kids from the '80s and '90s can remember how this man may have gave them sleepless nights after his role as Pennywise in 'It' from 1990. Aside from that, he also played in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992).

J.K. Rowling successfully created Dolores Jane Umbridge as a despicable character, which Imelda Staunton played perfectly. Fans hated her with every fiber as she was a petty teacher who's persecuted Muggles and punished students with such unfairness.

Aside from 'Harry Potter', Imelda also recently starred in 'Downtown Abbey' and had won Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her achievements in cinema.
