Paddington Bear 50p Coin Launched And Its Anticipated Value Gets Everyone Excited



British citizens and coin collectors will have an early Christmas this year after new coins celebrating Paddington bear are soon to be released to the masses. The Royal Mint made the exciting announcement detailing that two 50p coin designs featuring the bear will be in circulation in the year starting from October. 

The release dates are set to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the much-beloved bear who was first introduced in 1958 through a book called A Bear Called Paddington written by Michael Bond.

The silver proof coins have a heptagon shape with intricate designs depicting the Peruvian bear in two locations derived from his adventures- on a day out at the Buckingham Palace and sitting on his traveling case in Paddington train station.Fans have an option of getting their silver proof uncirculated coins at the Royal Mint's website and even an album to store the coins. 

There's even greater news for the fans who will be able to get plain metal coins celebrating the bear free of charge.Nicola Howell, director of the consumer coin at the Royal Mint, said: "If you enjoy collecting coins, then keep your eyes peeled for Paddington Bear in your change and keep them safe in their own special collector album.

"Paddington Bear is well-loved and a part of British popular culture, and we're incredibly proud to be playing a part in the 60th-anniversary celebrations."
