British Woman Who Fell In Love With An Italian Man Used Google Translate And They're Together Since 3 Years

A couple has credited Google's online translator tool for bringing them together after they fell in love despite not speaking the same language. Chloe Smith, 24, from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, and her now-boyfriend, Daniele Marisco, 26, from Naples in Italy, first met at a nightclub in Ibiza two years ago. Not only could they barely hear one another above the techno music but they couldn't speak a word of the same language. But after falling in love at first sight, they soon realized they could communicate through 'Google Translate' and by watching videos with subtitles.

Now living together in Streatham in South London - where Chloe is a makeup artist and Daniele is a bartender in an Italian restaurant - they have each learned to speak both Italian and English to ensure their relationship lasts. The couple improved their language proficiency simply by speaking to each other and didn't need to take any lessons.

Chloe Smith, 24, from Wolverhampton and Daniele Marisco, 26, from Naples met in an Ibiza nightclub (pictured on the island in one of their first-ever photos together) two years ago. Not being able to speak a word to each other, they used Google Translate to communicate and now live together in London

Shown in another photo taken in Ibiza days after they met, the pair were instantly 'inseparable' and say they immediately 'clicked', despite not speaking each other's language

'There was something exciting about Daniele - the fact we couldn't understand each other wasn't a problem. We just clicked,' says Chloe.

'I made the first move and asked him for his number because I just found him so attractive.

'Despite never having a foreign boyfriend before, I knew I liked him, and I knew he would learn one day. Sometimes you must do these things for love.

The pair took their first holiday together in Barcelona just one week after meeting - shortly after came Tenerife and Madrid

The couple continued to travel around Europe shortly after meeting including a visit to Capri in Italy. They say within six months they had 'probably been on more city breaks than some couples have in years'

'From there we went to Tenerife and Madrid. Within six months, we had probably been on more city breaks than some couples have in years. He is spontaneous and that's what I love.

Chloe has even spent time living with Daniele's family in his native Naples

Amsterdam was another of their first city breaks together - Chloe says she loves Daniele's spontaneity and that they have proved friends that thought it was just a 'holiday fling' wrong

Now living together in Streatham where Chloe is a make-up artist and Daniele a bartender, they are now able to speak each other's language without the help of an online tool

Pictured together in his native Naples, Daniele says he has also taught Chloe how to cook Italian cuisine
