Barbara has been following the footsteps of her sister as she got married to her husband in the 'On Getting Married at 16! - Big Fat Gypsy Weddings' show. She is only 16, and when her peers are busy studying for GCSEs, she's busy with her wedding planning and starting a family.
The episode follows her to the bridal store to pick her gown and go through the hectic planning for her wedding.

Her family showed support as they followed her while she picked her wedding and worked on the preps. But her school doesn't appreciate her being absent for too long and sent her a warning letter.
Barbara read out the letter from college, “This is the latest worry. Basically in normal language, if I don’t go back to school, I could be fined up to £2,500. As if!"

“How do you expect me to go to school and get married?"

“You are supposed to be a woman, aren’t you, not learning things in school, that’s just weird.”
Barbara is getting married to Malachy, her boyfriend, whom she met at the get of 13. The lovebirds had planned to get married once they reached the legal age.
Their wedding was pretty extravagant, with the bride arriving in a decorated truck for the occasion!
They also had a 25kg wedding cake involved, and the bride's dress was pompous.

With so many criticisms against her young age, the 16-year-old said, “It’s not written in a book that you have to be a certain age to be married.”
She added that the next thing she's looking forward to after tying the knot with Malachy, 18, would be "having a baby."

And Irish traveler Barbara is ready to face another phase in life with her partner!
