Bartender Reveals How She’s Treated Differently By Customers After Gaining Weight

Words and reactions matter, and they both have the power to hurt deeply. Even when you don’t realize it, how you treat or react to people can make someone pursue unrealistic expectations about their body. More serious, negativity towards weight and body image can lead to low self-esteem, bad body image, social isolation, and eating disorders.

Fat shaming is wrong, and indeed, it’s just the same as bullying. Judging someone based on their physical appearance has also led many people into extreme depression. Typically, people are body-shamed when they appear overweight or underweight or don’t fit into society's perspective of thin and beautiful. Cassidy Lane, known as Body_positve_bartender on TikTok, is a recent victim of being treated poorly after gaining weight.
