Artist’s 29 Illustrations Draw How Women Are Perceived In Today’s Society

Digital business strategist Lainey Molnar has caused a stir on the internet with her drawings that portray women beautifully and realistically. The 31-Year-Old from Hungary showcases women with their struggles and failings – a subject matter that’s quite rare in the media. Featuring make-up, mental health, to clothes, Lainey’s drawings tend to cover all relatable topics.

Owing to increasing online harassment, the blogger and writer found the motivation to draw amid the pandemic, and now she’s indeed made a remarkable impression. Using the no-judgment approach, Artist Lainey thinks women should make life choices without being informed of what’s right and wrong. Similarly, the artist believes it’s incredibly challenging for women to navigate through the expectations and milestones set by today’s society, including staying in a perfect size and looking youthful.

Artist Lainey draws unfiltered comics that focus on women’s role in society, especially how they are perceived. It’s believed that pressure on women originates from both within and outside a community. Women are generally expected to be maternal but ambitious, strong yet sensitive while also looking ideal and not overdoing cosmetic surgeries.

Illustrating and art has been Lainey’s hobby for over 20years now. Right after her blogging days, the artist had stepped back from the spotlight due to the online harassment she continually received. Due to the pandemic, she decided to create a comic-style avatar of herself, advocating for women under society's pressure.

Her drawings are equally hinged on adult friendship topics, falling and getting up, and, importantly, not wanting kids. Lainey advises that women should bond together in a bid to break the hurdles faced in today’s world. Going against the grain associated with societal standards, according to the artist, can entirely take away the sense of control from people who align with the standards.

Well, it’s 2020, and it’s sincerely not expected that women should be told how to dress their bodies. Regardless of where you stand, judgment, disrespect, heartbreak, and even sexual assault have happened to every single woman out there. The way you dress showcases your comfort zone and personality; hence, it shouldn’t be hinged on a moral background.
