With global warming affecting the planet, we’re seeing more and
more extreme weather all over the world. While Australia is still grappling
with the ravaging bushfires, Canada recently joined the list of nations under
the mercy of unprecedented weather patterns.
A massive blizzard hit Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada,
covering the entire area in huge amounts of snow.
Canadians wanted to show the world just what the worst blizzard in half a century looks like, so they posted a whole bunch of pictures online.
The snowstorm had many Canadians trapped in their homes for the better part of the day as the snow blocked their home entrances. What’s more, this is far from the end: meteorologists are promising even more snow in the near future.
Weather reports point out
that the recent one-day snow total in the Newfoundland city of St. John's
reached 35 inches, which is close to the average snowfall the city sees across
the entire month of January.
Photos are the best way to truly grasp what
Canadians are dealing with as they work now to dig themselves out, and social
media has plenty to show you. This is some wild stuff, folks.
