Every passing year photographers are given the opportunity to capture the most mesmerizing moments of nature which normally common people miss out by National Geographic Travel Photo Contest. Beautiful moments, candid human pictures, attractive villages are captured by these photographers. The competition provides privileges to photographers and these explorers by accepting global entries from three categories—Nature, Cities, and People.
In 2019 the auspicious prize of $75000 was won by Weimin Chu whimsical 'Winter in Greenland' picture. In this the picture he has depicted small fishing village situated in Upernavik, whose brightly colored homes shine brightly amidst the fog and snow. The other winners from the other categories include Huaifeng Li’s Showtime image that captures actors preparing for an evening opera performance in Licheng County, China it won 1st Place in the People category. Tamara Blazquez Haik’s photograph of a griffon vulture titled Tender Eyes won 1st Place in the Nature category. The picture captures the bird soaring through the skies in Monfragüe National Park in Spain.
